Both of these grills are very cheap. And my comparison is based on the price which is under $500 dollar for both grills. But their aimed users are different. The Traeger Tailgater is a portable grill, aimed for camping/tailgating, where ZGrills 7002E is designed as a backyard grill.
Traeger Tailgater can be used both in your backyard and for camping which may make you consider the Tailgater is better.
But most people are just looking for a pellet grill for their backyard. And, in this case, the ZGrills 7002E is better because it has a larger cooking area(513 sq. inches) which is 200 square inches larger than Traeger Tailgater. In the case of temperature both have the same 450 degrees.
Traeger Pro 575 vs ZGrills 1000D
Now we are going to compare two higher specification pellet grills, Traeger Pro 575 and ZGrills 1000D, both coming in under $1000. The ZGrills provide more cooking area, and it's mainly found on its two upper cooking racks.
But the Traeger Pro 575 is clearly the winner when it comes to the control panel. It has an upper hand both in terms of temperature accuracy/max temperature and its WiFi functionality. And there are many other features in The Traeger Pro 575 which make it better than ZGrills 1000D.
The ZGrills 1000D is not a good competitor to the Traeger Pro 575, although prices are pretty close. But, if you want a grill at a cheap price, you come across the ZGrills on sale for even under $600 which is a huge deal, and it’s also my main reason to bring ZGrills 1000D in this competition.

And at the same price tag, you can also get a portable grill from Traeger. However, the whole game changes when ZGrills are on sale which happens many times.
But if quality is over the price for you then look for Traeger grills. More you add your price the quality difference between Traeger Grills and ZGrills will also increase.
